The Mission

EUCON International School of Korea has been established to nurture Christian leaders in the 21 century. John 8:31-32 says, "Then said Jesus to those Jews which believd on him, if ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shahll make you free." Education is not only academics. True education is based on the truth and the Word of Christ.

Modern education stresses reputation and material success. There is a great need for Christian Education in Korea. Education has become the focus and drive in the daily lives of most people in Korea. There is a lot of pressure for kids to perform well academically and the proper motivation for education has been done away with. EUCON International School is an effective means to reach children and their parents for Christ. They can learn of Christ and are able to reach others with the gospel. At EIS of Korea, we want to equip our students with the spiritual tools they need to serve Christ with their lives.  They will receive a good education, but more importantly, they will receive Godly training in how to have a personal, meaningful relationship with Christ. Hosea 4:6 says “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.”

                               교육철학

예수원 본부장 벤토레이는 교육을 다음과 같이 정의하였습니다. 참교육이란 사람으로 하여금 진리를 알게 하는 것입니다. 예수 그리스도는 “내가 곧 길이요 진리요 생명이니”(요 8:31~32)라고 말씀하셨습니다. 진리 이고 말씀이신 예수 그리스도 위에 굳게 서지 않은 교육은 참교육이 아닙니다. 예수 그리스도, 그분의 피조 세계, 그분의 법과 길을 더 잘 알도록 돕지 않는 교육도 참교육이 아닙니다. 교육은 하나님을 더 깊이 알아 가도록 성령님이 학생을 인도 하시는 방편이며 심령을 기르고 논리적 사고력을 길러 모든 것속에서 진리를 찾도록 돕는 방편입니다.

이 교육의 기초는 하나님의 말씀입니다. 성경적 기초 위에서 모든 주제를 가르쳐야 합니다. 성경을 고찰하고 연구하면 하나님 및 하나님의 피조물과 연관해 자신의 참모습을 배울 수 있습니다. 또 성경은 하나님의 모든 피조물에 대한 기본 진리를 가르쳐 줍니다. 

이런 뼈대 안에서 학생은 각 주제인 과학, 수학, 언어, 역사 등의 지식뿐 아니라 하나님 나라를 섬기는 데에 그 지식을 적용하는 지혜까지 배우는 것입니다. “이러므로 너희는 나의 이 말을 너희 마음과 뜻에 두고 또 그것으로 너희 손목에 매어 기호를 삼고 너희 미간에 붙여 표를 삼으며 또 그것을 너희 자녀에게 가르치며 집에 앉았을 때에든지, 길에 행할 때에든지, 누웠을 때에든지,일어날 때에든지 이 말씀을 강론하고 또 네 집 문설주와 바깥문에 기록하라” ( 신11: 18~20 )

                                                  The Excellent Light

EUCON의 뜻은 “The excellent light"을 의미 합니다.  예수 그리스도 만이 오직 진실하신 참 빛이며 살아계신 말씀이시고 어둔 세상에 소망을 줄 수 있습니다.

다니엘서 12 : 3

지혜 있는 자는 궁창의 빛과 같이 빛날 것이요.

많은 사람을 옳은 데로 돌아오게 한 자는 별과 같이 영원토록 비취리라. 

Daniel  12 : 3

Those who are wise shall shine

Like the brightness of the firmament,

And those who turn many to righteousness

Like the stars forever and ever.

요한복음1: 9  '참 빛 곧 세상에 와서 각 사람에게 비추는 빛이 있었나니‘
John 1: 9  That was the true light which gives light to every man coming into the world.
